Bolling Hall 12 January 2008

This was KAPS first official public event at Bolling Hall.  The night began with a talk from out guest psychic and Reiki healer Nina Bentley who explained how to protect yourself when dealing with spirit.  She also gave and excellent insight to her work.  A Tarot demonstration was given to guest and the team by our guest Sara Pearson. Both guests were well received and continued to give advice and demonstrations throughout the evening in smaller groups… I am sure everyone would like to thank Nina and Sara for their valuable input into our investigation.

Report 

Merca and Amanda’s group reported activity in the nursery, (this area was not the original nursery).  Banging in the corner behind the blackboard was heard, sounding like a single loud knock.  There were cold drafts to each side of blackboard and the curtains moved.  No drafts seemed to come from the window.  Someone asked (in their head) for the planchette to move toward the torch and it did.  Orbs were seen on the piano keyboard and a shadow in front of piano.  Red lights were seen over fireplace.   Someone reported seeing a lady in white in front of blackboard.  A man at piano called Edward was picked up by Merca.  A shadow followed by white lights was seen near window.  The glass moved on the table in answer to questions.  Kerry joined the group and picked up a man and woman but couldn’t get a name for them. Knocking was heard on the wall as if it was hollow but it is solid stone.  

 Old Nursery (this was the original nursery)

 Icy drafts on stairs. Dowsing rods reacted to Baz, crossing and uncrossing on command and both pointing toward him. Anxious feelings and a sense of loss were felt by several members of the group.    The group felt they weren’t wanted there.  Amanda sensed the spirit of the lady who didn’t want to interact.   The temperature was noted to drop to 14.7 when baseline test showed a constant temp of 21.8 previously.  The women in the group were affected by cold spots more than men.   Merca picked up a woman who lost her baby son and the name Jack. She didn’t want the group there. Using a Ouija board a spirit of a girl was picked up who said a wardrobe fell on her.  She didn’t live in the house.  At this time group members reported hearing a girl’s voice.  This was also reported by other groups in this area during the night.

 Ghost room

Red and white lights in the corner to right of bed were seen.  Merca’s right eye felt like it had an eye patch on it. She felt the spirit was blind possibly injured in battle.  Activity was picked up with a pendulum, when asked to change direction it did and a white orb passed under it.  Jimmy held the pendulum and felt his body rocking and the pendulum was shaking. Our CCTV camera picked up lots of orbs in the ghost room.  At first they seemed like dust as they were all travelling in same direction as door.  After a while the orbs got bigger and seemed more haphazard in their movement.  One large orb moved very slowly and changed direction toward the camera; this orb appeared more formed and solid than others. Shortly after, the CCTV camera stopped working.  We could find no explanation as when tested later in the night it was working properly.  Many people’s cameras failed to work in the room also.

Dining room

A few people tried scrying at different times of night.  Faces changed and descriptions given by different groups were very similar. Amanda picked up the name Jack and a man dismantling and putting together a gun.John, a guest, picked up the name Ernst a quill maker with 1768 being and important date and linked to swans.  He lived in a village nearby, had a deformed leg and was illiterate.  The smell of charred wood was reported.  Penny reported her jeans being tugged.  This was something that many people reported throughout the night.  All of the psychics picked up on a woman in this room being ridiculed and humiliated.  On leaving the room Lynne and too group members moved the dining chairs around and closed the door.  The next group in reported that the chairs were all straight and tidy around the table…..the rest of the guest were asked if anyone had straighten the chairs and  no one claimed to have straightened them or entered the room.   Before the guests arrived the KAPS team and curator went into the dinning room and she found holly leaves on the floor.  Every leaf was picked up and thrown away.  When the last group entered the room they found more holly leaves on the carpet.  A Ouija board was used and a woman was picked up who said she left the leaves there. She also called the group around the table “cows” for moving the chairs!

Medieval room

Jimmy began rocking back and forth again without explanation.  Amanda felt she was hit on the shoulder whilst walking up the stairs.

 Blue/green bedrooms and civil war room

Noises were heard by all groups in the corner of this room, also tapping on adjoining stairs in response to questions.  Several groups experienced this.  One group used a Ouija board to ask questions.  When they asked the spirit to walk up and down the stairs the creak and noise of footsteps were heard, Chris took a photo at this point and an orb can be seen (see pic).  When the spirit was asked if he owned the gun the response was yes, when asked if he killed the baby the spirit seemed to leave and the atmosphere went flat.  John picked up a little girl aged 7 with significant dates 1845-1850. She said she never saw her dad as he was in India. We do know that one of the past residents was killed in the Madras.  The little girl liked to hide under the bed.  Later one of the guests claimed to see a boy dart under the bed.  At the same time another guest caught and orb on camera darting under the bed.

Kitchen

A man servant was picked up and the letter D.  Many lights were picked up on the camcorder screen; at first we thought it was street light reflection.  When we looked again they had gone only to reappear in another corner…….. The night vision then stopped working and didn’t work in that area at all.    Later the camera was checked and found to be in perfect working order……. Through out the night each time Kerry picked up spiritual activity the night vision ceased to work.  The camera was checked regularly and seemed to be working perfectly fine and has done since leaving the hall….. When this was mentioned to other team members it appeared that Sat navs would not work when we left the hall and would only work in French.  Coincidence? You decide.

Throughout the night there were common themes of children’s voices and the name Jack.  Bells heard ringing, cold spots (the house is constantly heated), jeans being pulled or tugged, ears being flicked and people feeling like they had been pushed or prodded in the back.  Each divination in each room whether by Ouija, pendulum, divining rods, or tarot card reading seemed to come up with the same or similar results.   Rebecca and Annabel were commonly occurring names.   Throughout the night the different groups had little opportunity to swap stories which makes the commonly occurring results of séances etc. very interesting.  All in all our investigation of Bolling Hall produced some interesting questions and we intend to return next year to try to get more answers.
