Smithhills Hall
As seen on "Most Haunted"

10pm - 2am 100% Vigil
Smithhills Hall dates back over 800 years. The hall was purchased in the 17thcentury by Richard Ainsworth. The wealth of the Ainsworth ensured the finest architects in Britain were employed to extent this already outstanding residence. In 1938 the hall was sold to Bolton Corporation who restored the most ancient parts of the hall to open as a museum. A local curate name George Marsh was tried as a protestant in the Green Room then taken to Chester where he was burned at the stake. It is said that he stamped his foot in outrage leaving his footprint in a flagstone which can still be seen. Many visitors report the feeling of a malevolent spirit and refuse to enter the room.
Paranormal activity seems to be the norm. Reports of a 17thcentury dress are common. Royalist soldiers a grey lady, footsteps moans and sighs were all report my Living TV’s “Most Haunted” team when they visited the Hall.
In the Great Hall the feeling of an icy breeze is often felt to rush past people and blow tablecloths. People report having their bottoms pinched or report being touched on the stairway between the Solar and Bower rooms and the smell of burning wood often reported.
Join the KAPS team for a 100% vigil of this highly active venue.
